The Majlis will form a joint committee to protect cultural and historical textures, CHN quoted spokesman of parliament’s culture committee Seyed Ali Taheri as saying. The joint committee will constitute members of the culture, urban development, and economic committees, and the group will convene to review the Restoration of Cultural and Historical Textures Plan. Committee members will be selected by Thursday, April 30. The Restoration of Cultural and Historical Textures Support Plan is aimed at empowering residents and owners of such buildings to maintain their properties in good condition. The plan will also address the abysmal state of government-controlled historical buildings.
