Asara, Alborz Province will host the 17th Tulip Festival during the final days of April. As a joint action, Alborz provincial office of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) and the governor’s office collaborate to hold the event which displays a wide range of colorful and unique tulips, Mehr News agency reported. Located on the Karaj-Chalous Road, Asara holds the biggest tulip festival nationwide. The festival is visited every year by over 500,000 tourists. It offers an opportunity to introduce other natural attractions of the region as well, including unparalleled waterfalls and forests plus beautiful villages like Shahrestanak and Gachsar. The Asara Tulip Festival has been held every year since 1998.
