The tomb of Hafez, a major tourist attraction located in the southwestern city of Shiraz, will provide 24-hour services for visitors during the two-week Noroz holiday, starting March 21, Iran newspaper reported. Tour guides will be available at historical and cultural sites to help sightseers, said a provincial official of Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, adding that promotional items, including maps, brochures and guide books will be distributed to travelers through information desks. Shiraz, the capital of Fars province, is known as the city of gardens and flowers, and is a center for Iranian luminaries, one of the most prominent of whom was the 14th-century poet Hafez.
