Iran holds a prominent status in the global tourism industry, said Nikola Andric, the director of the International Tourism Fair in Belgrade, Serbia, in a meeting with the Iranian Embassy cultural attaché, Mahmoud Shaaloui. The Serbian official emphasized Serbian interest to visit Iran’s cultural, historical, and artistic buildings, according to the IRIB World Service, citing IRNA. Andric went on to list Iran’s tourist attraction sites such as Takht-e Jamshid in Shiraz, in southern Iran; several cultural, historical, and religious sites in Isfahan and Hamedan; in addition to ski resorts along the Alborz Mountain range, among the locations that capture the imagination of every traveler. Meanwhile, the Iranian cultural attaché for his part, mentioned Iran’s interest to broaden tourism cooperation with Serbia. More than a thousand Serbian tourism organizations, and over three hundred tourism organizations from fifty foreign countries are set to take part in Belgrade International Tourism Fair, which is due to convene from February 19-22.
