Medals Exhibition

Ekhtesasi  or ‘exclusive’ palace in the Niavaran cultural-historical complex is hosting a medals exhibition, CHTN quoted the public relations office of the complex as saying. The exhibition is showcasing 58 medals, emblems, and decorations from Iran and elsewhere, on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran. The medals and decorations have been preserved in the storage rooms of Ekhtesasi palace. They include a French athletic medal; an emblem commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Czech Technical University in Prague, one of the oldest institutes of technology in Central Europe, also the oldest non-military technical university in Europe, established in 1707; the brass medal of the 1953 Iranian coup d’état, known in Iran as the 28 Mordad Coup, which was the overthrow of the democratically elected prime minister Mohammad Mosaddeq on August 19, 1953; and a commemoration medallion of Iran’s national Olympic committee. The exhibition will be held until February 19. It is open from 8:30 am to 4 pm for one week (closed on Tuesday). Niavaran complex is located east of Bahonar square, north of Niavaran Park.
