The aircraft of Iran's flag carrier airline, IranAir, will fly short of full capacity to ensure social distancing, says Masoud Mohammadi, an official with the Iranian airline.
Ticket sales for ATR planes have reduced from 65 seats to 45, those for Airbus commercial aircraft from 130 to 100 and the capacity of Fokker planes have declined to 70 from 100 passengers, he added.
Passengers suspected of having contracted the coronavirus won’t be permitted to board a flight, according to the health protocols of the Health Ministry, the World Health Organization and the guidelines of the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran.
IranAir gives out facemasks at prices set by the government to passengers who will be scanned for signs of fever at the arrival terminals and finally those showing symptoms of cold during the flight will be directed to back rows that must be kept empty, according to CAO guidelines.
“The fleet is cleaned throughout the day and those remaining overnight at airports undergo a thorough cleaning procedure with disinfectants every night,” he was quoted as saying by IRNA.
