IranAir Resumes Flights to Stockholm, Gothenberg

Iranian flag carrier airline's flights to the Swedish capital, Stockholm, and the European country's second-largest city, Gothenburg, have resumed after a three-week halt.
The Swedish Transport Agency said in a statement on January 10 that it decided to temporarily withdraw the traffic permit for IranAir for flights between Sweden and Iran, citing "unclarity" around the accidental shooting down of a passenger airplane over Iran on Jan. 8 and "safety for civilian air traffic".
Tehran-Stockholm flights were re-launched on Feb. 15 and are operated on Saturdays and Wednesdays every week from Imam Khomeini International Airport to Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport, the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development's news service reported.
Moreover, flights from Tehran to Gothenberg will resume from Feb. 18 and will be operated on Tuesdays every week from IKIA to Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport.
IranAir, also known as Homa, is the only airline that flies directly between Sweden and Iran.
It is currently the country's biggest airline with 37 active planes (sharing the standing with Mahan Air with the same number of aircraft) with an average age of 17 year. The airline was founded in May 1944 and operated its first passenger flight right after World War II.
