Iran women para archery team finished first in the 2018 Para Archery European Cup - 2nd leg in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic, on Saturday, beating rivals South Korea in the final game.

The three-woman team including Zahra Nemati, Zahra Delkhosh and Somayeh Rahimi scored 302 points in the finals. South Korea finished second with 199 points, according to the results on the website of the games.

Iran also took a silver medal for recurve open mixed team after Poland. The pair, Nemati and Gholam-Reza Rahimi, finished second. The Poles Pawel Daleszynski and Milena Olszewska won the title and the Russian team came third.

The results of the tournament is a boost for the players with 90 days to go until Asian Para Games in Jakarta. In the previous edition of the games in Incheon, South Korea (2014), Nemati won the gold medal in the individual recurve category. Also Iran mixed recurve team finished third after China and South Korea.

Every year in Nove Mesto a world ranking tournament valid as the second stage of European Para-Archery Cup takes place. The world ranking title for the event means points of the games will help athletes rankings improve in the Paralympics in the archery category.

A total of 31 nations with 170 archers from all-over Europe as well as Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Mongolia, Singapore, the UAE, the US and Iran attended the games.
