Iran Unbeaten After 4 Matches

The deaf football squad of Iran gained a precious 3-0 victory against Oman on Wednesday at the Fourth Asia-Pacific Deaf Football Championship in Changwon, South Korea, during April 23-May 5, to qualify for the next round with four consecutive wins.

Striker Mostafa Rahim-Ferdosnejad scored twice in the 17th and 22nd minutes before Mohsen Farzi found the back of the net for the third time at the 38th minute. The national team will meet South Korea on Friday.

On Tuesday, the team humbled Kuwait 7-0. Rahim-Ferdowsnejad and Ali Akbar Ahmadvand each scored twice and Alireza Basij, Abdolmehdi Hamoori and Iman Mohebbi scored once each, IRNA reported.

In their first clash, the squad beat Thailand 2-1. Saudi Arabia was the second rival that was kicked aside by Iran with only one goal.

The Asia-Pacific Deaf Sports Confederations and Korean Football Association for the Disabled are hosting the championship in Changwon.

Iran, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Iraq, North Korea and Malaysia took part in the men’s competitions, where three women’s teams from South Korea, Japan and Nepal were also present at the games.
