Mohammed Salah undoubtedly was the star of the night.
Mohammed Salah undoubtedly was the star of the night.

Liverpool FC thrashed AS Roma 5-2 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semifinal on Tuesday.

In a pulsating encounter at Anfield, the Reds raced out to a five-goal lead after Mohamed Salah scored a first-half brace before Sadio Mane and a pair of goals from Roberto Firmino put Liverpool in control of the tie, FIFA reported.

A late Edin Dzeko strike and a Diego Perotti penalty gave Roma a glimmer of hope for the decisive second leg in the Italian capital next week.

Liverpool genius Salah has raised the goal count at the current season to 43 goals as well as 13 assists in 57 games; ten of the goals were scored in UEFA Champions League games.
