Domestic Clubs Win Top Spots in Fajr Taekwondo Cup

Iranian taekwondo teams won all top three ranks of the 8th Fajr Taekwondo Clubs Cup on Tuesday in Karaj.

The two day tournament ended Tuesday and from among the 11 participating teams, three from Iran emerged at the top, Iran Taekwondo Federation reported on its website.

Azad University team came first with four gold medals, two silver and one bronze to collect 65 points for the general performance of the team.

Second place was taken by Moqavemat with three gold, one silver and one bronze medals and a total of 50 points.

Victors of the previous edition, Varamin Municipality team, this time settled for third place with one gold, three silver and two bronze medals.Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq participated in the games each with two teams. Oman and India were also present with one team.

G1 rating was considered for the event which gives ten points to gold winners, six to second place and 3.6 for third place, the points are also considered for the Olympic ranking of the taekwondokas. The cup was held April 21-22 in the individual category. Iranian men and women clinched the first places in both categories.
