PSG Thrashes Monaco to Win Ligue 1 Title

Paris Saint-Germain reclaimed the Ligue 1 title in dominant fashion, beating last year’s champions AS Monaco 7-1 on Sunday.
Les Parisiens did so without their two star additions of last summer, as both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe sat out the contest, Bleacherreport.com wrote.
It was their fifth title of the last six years, and the manner in which they demolished their main competitors for the top spot will surely reignite discussions regarding the lack of competition in France.
Angel Di Maria and Giovani Lo Celso both bagged a brace, while Edinson Cavani and Julian Draxler also got on the scoresheet. Monaco striker Radamel Falcao contributed to his side’s defeat with an own goal.
While former Monaco man Mbappe was on the bench for the match, star forward Neymar was not even in the stands and his absence did not sit well with a lot of fans.
The celebrations continued without him, though, as PSG grabbed its second piece of silverware of the season after beating Monaco in the Coupe de la Ligue final in March.
PSG continues its quest for a third major prize on Wednesday, when it faces Caen in the Coupe de France semifinal.
