The draw for the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League was made on Friday in Nyon, Switzerland.
Premier League leader Manchester City has been drawn against English rival Liverpool, according to the UEFA website.
City secured its place in the last eight by beating Basel, having won the away leg 4-0, but then lost 2-1 at home in the second leg.
Liverpool saw off Porto in the round of 16, which also saw an impressive away performance with a 5-0 victory at the Estadio do Dragao ahead of a routine goalless draw at Anfield.
Anfield will host the first leg of the quarterfinal tie, which will be played on April 3 with the second leg to be held on April 10.
The two English clubs have already played each other twice in the Premier League this season.
Manchester City romped to a 5-0 home win last September, with Gabriel Jesus and Leroy Sane both scoring twice after Sadio Mane had been sent off.
Liverpool, though, gained revenge at Anfield in January when it inflicted what so far has been the only Premier League defeat for City, when it was beaten 4-3 with two late goals adding some respectability to the final scoreline.
Elsewhere in Friday’s quarterfinal draw, holder Real Madrid was handed a tie against Italian giant Juventus, which beat Tottenham in the last round.
La Liga leader Barcelona will play Roma, while the reward for Sevilla’s victory over Manchester United was a date against Bayern Munich of Germany.
First leg of the games are slated for April 3-4 and second will be held a week later to the date on April 10-11. The winners then will come out of the semifinal draw on April 13.
Similar to the quarterfinals, semis will also take part in two legs on April 24-25 and May 1-2. Finalists will grant their ticket to Kiev, Ukraine, where they will play the final clash on May 26.
Also in Nyon, the draw for Europa League quarterfinal round was made and eight teams from eight countries learned about their rivals.
Arsenal has been drawn against CSKA Moscow in the quarterfinals of the Europa League.
The Gunners booked their place in the last eight by defeating AC Milan, winning the second leg 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday evening to seal a 5-1 aggregate victory.
In the other quarterfinal ties, Atletico Madrid faces Sporting Lisbon, RB Leipzig tackles Marseille and Lazio takes on Salzburg.
Arsenal last reached a European quarterfinal in 2010, when they lost to Barcelona.
The Gunners look unlikely to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League, currently sitting in sixth place—12 points behind fourth-spot Liverpool.
Arsene Wenger’s men, though, have now won their last three matches in all competitions to ease the pressure a little on the veteran Frenchman.
Europa League quarterfinals’ first leg matches will be held on a single day on April 5. A week later on April 12, the second leg clashes will follow.
The date for the semifinal draw is slated for the same date of UCL semis draw on April 13.
Semifinal games then will be held on April 26 and May 3 in two legs.
The final game for the Europa League will be hosted by Stade de Lyon in Lyon, France, on May 16.
