Iran’s snooker team finished fourth on the last day of the First World Team Cup in Doha, Qatar, on Friday.
The team of Amir Sarkhosh and Ehsan Heydari defeated the strong Russian team in the quarterfinals 3-2 in a hard-fought match to enter the semis and face Indian rivals, where they lost the match in a close 2-3 match and stood at fourth place, according to the official website of the International Billiard and Snooker Federation.
On the way to the semifinals, Iran first defeated Wales 3-1. Isle of Man players were the second rival beaten by Sarkhosh and Heydari. The third match was against Egyptians who lost the game 3-0 to Iran.
The International Billiards and Snooker Federation & Asian Confederation of Billiards Sports held the first IBSF–ACBS World Team Cup in Doha, Qatar, from Feb. 27-March 2.
