Arsenal has announced a five-year extension to its shirt partnership with Emirates, which is the largest sponsorship deal ever signed by the club.

As part of the deal, worth a reported £200 million ($280m), Arsenal will fly on Emirates planes for pre-season tours.

According to the Football365.com, the Gunners confirmed on Monday Emirates, whose sponsorship agreement started in 2006, branding would continue to feature on shirts and training kit of all their teams until the end of the 2023-2024 season.

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis said on the club’s official website: “Our shirt partnership is the longest running in the Premier League and one of the longest relationships in world sport. This mutual commitment is testimony to the strength and depth of our unique relationship.

“Emirates are again demonstrating their great belief in our approach and ambition and their significantly increased investment will help us continue to compete for trophies and bring more success to the club and our fans around the world.”

Emirates have held naming rights to Arsenal’s 60,000-seater stadium since the Gunners moved in during 2006, with that deal set to run through 2028.

“The new deal, extending our shirt partnership until 2024, underlines how much both organizations value and benefit from the relationship,” Gazidis continued.

On the pitch, Arsenal will be back in action for the second leg of the Europa League last-16 clash against Ostersund on Thursday. The Swedish side comes to the Emirates Stadium having lost the first leg 3-0.
