Iran cycling squad won several medals in different categories of the Asian Road and Para Cycling Championships in Naypyidaw, Myanmar, February 6-12.

Bijan Amirakhori finished first in the masters’ 50 and above age class and took gold.

Also in the masters’ 45-49 category, Omid Esfandiari and Shamsollah Mazaheri won gold and silver respectively.

The Iran cycling team finished second in the men’s elite team time trial category after Japan. Arvin Moazzami, Mir Samad Pourseyyedi, Behnam Ariyan, Mehdi Sohrabi, Mohammad Rajablou and Mohammad-Esmaeil Chaichi made the team, according to Myanmar Cycling Federation website.

Mohammad Ganjkhanlou in the road category finished second after a Japanese cyclist in the first place and a Mongolian went for the bronze.

In the masters’ class of individual time trial, Seyyed Mehdi Mirbaqeri finished second in the 40-44 class. Vahid Dehqanzadeh finished fourth in the same category.

Arvin Moazzami also in the men’s elite individual time trial took bronze after King Lok Cheung from Hong Kong and Korean Hyeongmin Choe, who took gold and silver respectively.
