Men, Women Teams Will Attend World Karate 1 Premier League

A total of 22 male and 11 female karatekas from Iran have enrolled for the games. Teams from Tehran and Arak provinces will participate in the team division of the event

Iranian male and female karate teams will participate in the first round of World Karate 1 Premier League games in Paris slated for January 26-28.

The Paris tournament is the first of the seven-round international games. Rotterdam, Netherlands; Dubai, the UAE; Rabat, Morocco; Istanbul, Turkey; Berlin, Germany; and Tokyo, Japan are to host next rounds of the games up to the end of 2018.

According to the World Karate Federation website Wkf.net, a total of 753 karatekas from 80 countries have enrolled for the games. The points achieved in the event will be considered for the Olympics quota.

Italy with 55 and host country France with 45 karatekas have the highest number of participants in the games. Next are Iran and Turkey with 35 competitors each.

Initiated in 2011, the Karate1 Premier League is the most important league event in the world of karate. It comprises some of the most prominent competitions and endeavors to bring together the best karate athletes in the world.
