Iran chess team finished third at World Chess Federation Youth U-16 Chess Olympiad in India, December 10-19.
Iran beat Belarusian rival 4-0 to secure the third place. Russia and India finished first and second respectively. Iran had finished first at the previous edition of the tournament, Varzesh3.com reported.
A total of 28 teams attended the Olympiad hosted by India at Karnavati Club in Ahmedabad City.
Four boys Seyyed Mohammad-Amin Tabatabaei, Alireza Firouzjah and Aryan Gholami as well as a girl Anousha Mahdian were in the Iran team that played nine rounds.
