Sara Zera’atzadeh took a silver medal in youth D age class at the Asian K Climbing Championships in Singapore, December 16-17.
The event was organized by the Singapore Mountaineering Federation in two age categories of youth C and youth D. The C class included athletes born in 2004 or 2005; and athletes born in 2006 or 2007 were put in D class.
Each round of the tournament was a combined competition in the speed, bouldering and lead disciplines. There was no fixed starting order in the qualification round. Each competitor chose the sequence to attempt each route or boulder in the order they preferred, Varzesh3.com reported.
Top six athletes were qualified for the final round and it was held based on International Federation Sports Climbing regulations for combined events. A total of 61 girls and 82 boys from Iran, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Singapore, India, South Korea and Taiwan were present.
