The 13th Iran Zamin Karate Cup will be held in Tehran in the presence of several Iranian and foreign teams.
The Iranian Karate Federation will hold the tournament, a major international karate competition, on December 21-22 in Tehran, Mehr News Agency reported.
So for, the participation of teams from South Korea, Iraq, Georgia, Vietnam, Japan, Armenia, Canada, Pakistan and Afghanistan has been confirmed.
Teams from Turkey and Azerbaijan are also likely to attend.
Competition in the women’s and junior section will be held on December 21 and the men will clash on December 22.
On the sidelines of the event, a technical seminar will be held by Japanese Hitoshi Kasuya Sensei, the founder of the World Shotokan Karate-Do Association, on kata and kumite events for senior couches of foreign teams.
Iranian karatekas made a clean sweep at the previous edition of the cup and stood on top. Iran won the title in the men’s section followed by Azerbaijan as runner-up while Iraq and Hong Kong finished third and fourth respectively.
