Bimeh Razi Crowned Champion

In the final encounter, Iran’s Bimeh Razi pulled out an 8-2 victory over another Iranian club Sina Sanat Izeh to win the title of the fourth edition of the games

Iran’s Bimeh Razi overpowered Sina San’at Izeh at the 2017 World Greco-Roman Wrestling Clubs Cup final on Friday and won the title.

With eight foreign teams and three from Iran, the fourth edition of the games was held in Isfahan, December 14-15, Mehr News Agency reported.

In the final encounter, Iran’s Bimeh Razi pulled out an 8-2 victory over another Iranian club Sina Sanat Izeh and was crowned champion.

The Buyuksehir team from Turkey finished third in the overall ranking.

The competition was held with new rules in 10 weight categories.

At the previous edition of the games in Budapest, Sina Sanat came first and  Bimeh Razi finished third.

Bimeh Razi had won the title for the second edition in Khorramshahr in Khuzestan Province in 2015.

Last week Easypipe team from Iran beat Titan Mercury of the US to clinch the first place at the 4th World Wrestling Freestyle Clubs Cup, Tehran, December 7-8.

World Wrestling Clubs Cup is an international wrestling clubs competition among teams representing member nations of the United World Wrestling, the sport’s global governing body. The tournament was initiated following a proposal from the Iran Wrestling Federation in 2014.
