Iran emerged winner of the second Asian Kung Fu To’a Championships held in Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi Province, December 6-12.
In both men and women’s sections, Iran finished first. The Uzbek and Afghan teams finished second and third in men’s section respectively, IRNA reported.
In the men’s section there were 100 contestants from seventeen countries including Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, South Korea and China.
Uzbekistan will host the next round of the games.
Kung Fu To’a is a modern martial art, developed by Iranian martial art practitioner Ibrahim Mirzaei in the 1960s.
It is a unique style of Kung Fu with yoga influences focused on a healthier mind and body.
It is made up by combination of Northern and Southern styles of Shaolin Kung Fu. To’a training essentially depends on mastering combative forms, which are unarmed as well as armed, with particular emphasis on physical and mental health and meditation practices.
