Isfahan is hosting the Futsal Nations Quadruple Tournament, December 2-7 at Naqsh-e-Jahan Stadium.
Russia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and the host country are the four teams attending the games. The central city was chosen as the host due to its good track record. Previously the city has hosted national competitions and AFC Futsal Championship along with friendlies with the World No.1 Brazil and Russia (third in the ranking).
Isfahan Football Association head Amir-Masood Haratian said the games were arranged last year, IRNA reported.
The event seeks to prepare the national futsal team for major events such as AFC Futsal Championship and World Cup games.
Iran is currently in fifth place after Brazil, Spain, Russia and Argentina in the latest ranking (as of December 2).
