The United World Wrestling (UWW) Clubs Cup for freestyle division will be held at Azadi Sport Complex in Tehran, December 7-8.
Kashan City in Isfahan Province was first slated as the host of the games, but city officials could not meet the requirements before the set timeline.
Iran, Italy, Armenia and Ukraine had also applied to host the 4th World Wrestling Clubs Cup. Following negotiations with UWW, Iran was announced as the host, Varzesh3.com reported.
More than 10 clubs around the world including Titan Mercury from the US, Hamid Hamidov from the Republic of Dagestan among other clubs have shown interest in participating in the Tehran event.
Bimeh Razi freestyle team from Iran finished in first place in the first two editions. In Greco-Roman section, Iran’s Pastor Andimeshk and Bimeh Razi (twice) won the titles in the last three occasions.
Tehran will also host the Greco-Roman World Clubs Cup December 17-18.
