Juventus team enjoyed a great evening on Monday in Milan at the Grand Gala del Calcio, an event which recognizes excellence in the 2017/18 season of Italian football.
The big winner at the event was the team’s Italian goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon, who took home the best player award. He was also honored with Best XI spots with Alex Sandro, Miralem Pjanic, Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala from Juventus, while the club as a whole also scooped ‘Team of the Year’ for the sixth consecutive time, Varzesh3.com reported.
Maurizio Sarri, 58, the Italian football coach and the current coach of Napoli team was recognized as the best coach for the season. The team is at the top spot of the A serie ranking under his management.
The Gran Gala del Calcio AIC is an event organized by the Italian Footballers Association (AIC) in order to award players, managers and referees who are considered to have performed the best over the previous Serie A season. The winners are chosen by the league’s footballers.
The Gran Gala del Calcio AIC replaced the Oscar del Calcio AIC in 2011, which had occurred since 1997.
