Iran finished second at the Karate 1-Series A held in Okinawa, Japan, November 25-26.
Winning two gold, one silver and three bronze medals, the Iranian squad emerged as the runner-up at the end of the competitions, Tasnim News Agency reported.
Amir Mehdizadeh in Male Kumite -60 kg and Saleh Abazari in Male Kumite +84 kg claimed two gold medals.
Sara Bahmanyar won the silver in Female Kumite -50 kg. Further, Mobina Kaviani in Female Kumite -68 kg, Mehdi Qaraizadeh in Male Kumite -84 kg and Hadi Arab in Male Kumite +84 kg bagged three bronze medals.
Host Japan won the title with seven gold, five silver and 10 bronze medals. Italy was third with one gold, one silver and three bronze.
The news agency said 800 competitors from 67 countries took part in the event.
