Ali Daei, current football coach and a former football player, has been invited for the World Cup Final Draw ceremony at the Kremlin Palace on December 1.

Daei is a former captain of Iran national football team with 109 international goals making him the world’s all-time leading goalscorer in men’s international matches. Currently, he is managing Saipa FC in the Iran Pro League.

In 1994 Daei joined Persepolis. Following his impressive performance in Asian Cup 1996, he signed a contract with the German club Arminia Bielefeld and started playing in the Bundesliga. He later played for Bayern Munich and Hertha BSC. From 2007 until 2013, Daei was a member of the FIFA Football Committee.

His professional career never distracted him from his philanthropic work. His role during the days after the earthquake in Kermanshah Province last week helped soothe the pain and suffering in the affected region, Varzesh3.com reported.

The 7.3-magnitude quake struck in the remote border area between Iran and Iraq on November 12 and cut short 437 innocent lives, injured 9,400 others and left thousands homeless.

By holding a campaign, Daei gathered humanitarian aid from the public to help the people in the quake-stricken areas in western Iran.

Earlier this month, former national football team player Mehdi Mahdavikia received an invitation from FIFA to attend the 2018 World Cup draw ceremony.
