In a friendly match in the Netherlands on Monday Iran national soccer team defeated Venezuela 1-0.

Team Melli, which is preparing for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, won against the South Americans with an only goal on the 57th minute scored by Alireza Jahanbakhsh who found the back of the net from Vahid Amiri’s through ball.

Iran played a superior game against Venezuela in the first half and created several chances but failed to score. In the second half, both teams had scoring chances yet the game finished with Iran’s sole goal.

The victory added to Iran’s unbeaten record in eight months. The national team has not lost in ten games so far. In recent friendlies, Iran beat Panama, Montenegro and Togo, as well as a creditable 1-1 draw against Russia last month.

Under the guidance of Portuguese manage Carlos Queiroz, Iran, the first Asian team to seal World Cup 2018 qualification, continues its fine form on the way to Russia next summer and will be playing in its fifth World Cup.
