Iran U-17 football team beat Mexico 3-0 in the Costa del Sol 2017 Friendly Match Week in Marbella Center in Spain on Sunday.
Abbas Chamanian’s boys had defeated France 4-0 in the first match, Tasnim News Agency reported.
The friendlies are part of preparations for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup, which will be held in Goa, India, October 6-28. Iran is drawn with Guinea, Germany and Costa Rica in Group C.
“We are trying to make our players realize that we will face stronger teams. The group looks tough. Having seen videos of recent matches involving Germany and Guinea, I feel that all the teams are equally strong. However, we have a common goal and are working as a team to reach that target which is to reach the quarter-final stage (at least),” said Chamanian.
