Iran's Vice Presidential Office for Science and Technology has allocated a 300-billion-rial ($2.2 million) budget for the completion of the unfinished Iran National Observatory in Kashan, Isfahan Province.
During a visit to the half-built observatory on Monday, Vice President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari said it is a pity that the project launched in 2003 has been postponed for a long time under the pretext of budget shortage, Mehr News Agency reported.
"The observatory’s design includes three stations with one large and two smaller telescopes," he added.
Sattari noted that with the collaboration of Iranian experts and domestic knowledge-based companies, the observatory will become operational by October 2020.
“Half of the budget has been paid to the construction team and the rest will be paid soon,” he added.
