Five Iranian students were awarded at the 47th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva held on April 10-14 in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Iranian award-winning participants were among over 800 exhibitors from 40 countries, which presented about 1,000 inventions and products.
According to the event's website, Innopa.org, an international jury made up of 82 specialists judged the inventions and selected a number of outstanding ones.
Iranian participants won awards for inventions, such as an aluminum multi-core wire with high flexibility, an endoscopy system combining bionic features of animals, along with a gasoline engine with a system preventing fire and explosion in car accidents.
In addition, a gadget for protecting workers from the dangers of working in sewage ducts, along with an environment protection system, was among the award-winning inventions presented by Iranian representatives.
"Thanks to the competence and standing of the jury, the prizes certify the merit of winning inventions and offer substantial help in their commercial launch [in the future]," the event's statement reads.
Organized by the Swiss Federal Government and World Intellectual Property Organization, the event gathers talented students and inventors to show their products, techniques and capabilities to visiting businessmen.
Participants may work on subjects in the fields of energy and environmental protection, computer sciences, general engineering, industrial processes, electricity, electronics, construction, civil engineering, carpentry and plumbing.
They can turn their skills into wealth by protecting and marketing their inventions by negotiating licenses.
The attendees can also make fruitful contacts with manufacturers and commercial agents visiting the exhibition from different countries.
