Taking one more step toward making Tehran a smart city, the municipality has introduced three smart platforms to facilitate urban and administrative affairs.
Mayor Mohammad Ali Afshani unveiled the three new smart platforms on Saturday, including the Tehran Municipality Management Dashboard, Smart Atlas of Tehran Neighborhoods and the Administrative Correspondence System, online news service Peivast reported.
TM Management Dashboard provides municipal staff on-demand, up-to-date and detailed information, helping them make informed and data-based decisions.
Smart Atlas of Tehran Neighborhoods is a system for monitoring and managing renovation projects targeting distressed urban areas in 158 neighborhoods.
Administrative tasks can be carried out more readily and rapidly via the Administrative Correspondence System.
Afshani emphasized the necessity of automation in issuing construction permits. “We need a smart license issuing system for urban development and construction. There is need for a system through which applicants will need to only submit the required information and receive their construction permit online.”
He says that an automated system for issuing construction permits will be introduced by September 2019.
The mayor referred to management of green spaces, urban lightening and parking as among urban issues that can be improved with the help of smart technologies.
In line with efforts to promote use of smart technologies in the sprawling capital, the municipality recently launched an electronic system through which people can easily notify TM authorities when there is a problem or inconvenience related to it.
