Renault’s top priority is to increase the production of the “face-lifted” L90 (Dacia Logan) to 100,000 vehicles a year, apart from boosting the numbers of Logan pickup and the new X90 (Dacia Sandero) car.

Peyman Kargar, head of Renault Middle East, made the announcement at a press conference on Thursday.

Kargar added that the second priority of Renault Pars, the partly-owned subsidiary of Renault, is to locally produce more of Renault’s models, including the compact SUV Koleos, the family car Fluence and the mini-crossover Captur.

The CEO also announced that his company would begin the construction of a new R&D center for producing vehicles in future.

Asked whether Renault Pars’ parent company in Paris made an offer to local assembler Pars Khodro, Kargar said he plans to work with local companies and has initiated contacts with them.
