Microsoft has rolled out a free evaluation version of Windows 10 Enterprise edition so users can play with it for 90 days, if people are still on the fence about upgrading to the new system.

On Wednesday, Microsoft officially started pushing out Windows 10 as a free upgrade to Windows 7 and 8.1 users who reserved a copy. The upgrade is free for one year, so if users have not yet installed it, there is plenty of time to decide to install it.

The upgrade naturally wipes out existing installations of Windows 7 or 8.1, though it has been announced that users can roll back if for a previous version.  Another option, though, is to install the free 90-day trial of Windows 10 Enterprise edition to check out the new OS, CNET reported.

But if the Windows 10 upgrade itself is free, why would you need to bother with a free evaluation edition? Well, installing the trial version gives people three months to check out Windows 10. During that time, users can still maintain their current Windows 7 or 8.1 environment for everyday tasks.

Most of the apps that come with Windows 10 Home and Pro are not available in the Enterprise edition, so users would not find Mail, Calendar, People, Photos, Cortana or other apps which are usually on the software. And the Windows app store is not available either.

But despite these limitations, the Enterprise edition at least gives you a taste of Windows 10.

  Downloading in Iran

Users in Iran will struggle to get an official version of the software, as Microsoft still denies entering the market. However, a previous report by the Financial Tribune, last year, stated that the company had bought out a local company called Iretel on the back of their Nokia handsets deal.

Still, as Microsoft denies their quiet entry, the official version of either the home or enterprise version will only be available on the black market in the coming weeks.

Many new laptops for sale in Iran do not come with pre-installed Windows operating systems with a majority of them using illegal downloaded version operating with a "crack." These systems are prone to software issues and remind users daily that their edition of Windows is illegal. Looking at local software sharing sites like Shatelland.com, an online community site that shares illegal software, Windows 10 does not appear to be listed currently.

Other downloading websites like Kick Ass Torrents list Windows 10 Enterprise edition as their number one download this week in the software section of their site. This is followed by educational and home versions coming in second and third places respectively.

Like previous versions, without a crack to remove the illegal software announcement, Iranian users will be in the same boat as they have been for every version of Windows so far.

  Mobile Windows

Windows Mobile users in Iran, who constitute a small but growing community, will also get the Windows 10 Update. And the best thing for these owners is that their software is original.

Windows Central reports Microsoft plans to offer Windows 10 Mobile over-the-air upgrades first to a smaller list of 10 Lumia smartphones. However, the company has clarified that the upcoming mobile OS will be released for all Lumia devices that are currently using the Denim software version of Windows Phone 8.1.
