Seven technology parks are under construction and three others have already been constructed, reported IRNA on Monday quoting the head of small industries and industrial parks. To stimulate further economic activities and reduce the challenges faced by the industry, industrial parks should change their approach towards building infrastructure and focus on transforming from small traditional industries to high-tech modern ones, said Farshad Moghimi, adding that there currently are 742 active industrial parks around the country. He said that “for the continuity of industrial centers, units require significant investment.” With newly created industries along with IT services and mutual marketing, 40 percent industrial units would find the chance to resume their activities, noted Moghimi, adding that business and technology centers are the key areas where the country needs to invest its time and future resources. IT and industrial parks in general have met with mixed responses , although they help enhance efficiency, company owners find their locations awkward for day-to-day operations.
