A domestic company has unveiled domestic versions of well-known artificial intelligence (AI) products.
Mohammad Reza Haghiri, the founder of Mani Platform, unveiled three AI products, namely the Metaverse 3D world creation platform, text-to-music conversion AI and MaralGPT, an Iranian language model, during the summer AI event held on July 6.
The Mani Platform, which was officially launched in the spring, is an AI like Dall-E 2 and Midjourney that generates pictures based on characteristics submitted by users.
“Build Your Universe” was the first AI product unveiled during this event, a platform created by ARmo Group that uses Mani Platform’s AI to convert text into a VR universe, Peivast reported.
While pointing out that this project is currently available to the public for limited use at Buildyouruniverse.ir, the official added that by using this platform, users can create their own universe by describing their imaginative world in text and enter this world by using a VR headset.
The next product was an AI platform that generates music from text like Google’s MusicLM.
Haghiri stated that this system has not yet been finalized and introduced the text-to-music AI platform by saying: “We no longer need to spend a lot of money and time in the studio and use countless accessories, because in the very near future, with the finalization of this product, we will be able to create our desired music simply by giving text commands.”
MaralGPT, an Iranian language model is an AI platform like OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
“The language model has 20 billion parameters, understands Persian and is even familiar with Persian poems and their combinations. It is controlled by users and will be completely open source and available for free,” he said.
He added that this language model uses the information of news websites such as Tasnim News Agency and Peivast.
“Currently, this AI product is in the text completion stage, does not understand instructions like ChatGPT and is unable to answer questions and maintain chats. For now, it can only complete the user’s input texts,” he said.
“In fact, Maral is a simple and basic version of language models that will become bigger and more advanced in the future.”
Haghiri noted that in the near future, it may be possible to build a platform where users enter their own inputs, instructions, and questions and answers, and use that to prepare their own AI language model that is built, operated and handled by the users themselves.
Domestic Firm Offers AI, Supercomputer Services
A knowledge-based company has designed and launched a cloud computing system to provide cloud-based supercomputer and artificial intelligence (AI) services by using domestic knowhow.
“Surin Smart Company’s main fields of activity are to provide equipment and professional solutions for meeting a wide range of needs, including cloud computing, dedicated cloud, fast processing, powerful supercomputers, AI and professional storage,” Mostafa Soltani, the company’s CEO, was also quoted as saying by the news portal of the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology.
The CEO emphasized that the company is only active in the field of software development and imports the required hardware.
Noting that the domestic cloud computing service is cost effective, Soltani said, “These smart systems have foreign counterparts, but due to sanctions, high costs and payment problems, they are not readily available for Iranian users. Therefore, the domestic supercomputing system was designed to provide cloud-based services in a remote manner.”
The company’s main software include Surin Cloud Management System, Enterprise Cloud Storage and Cluster Management System.
Surin Cloud Management System is able to control a large set of computing, storage and network resources in a data center. These controls are provided to the system administrator through a management dashboard. Cloud users can also access the resources they need through a web interface.
Enterprise Cloud Storage gives information technology (IT) managers the ability to easily manage their data and share it among users with high control and access.
The Cluster Management System makes it possible for IT executives to easily manage their clusters and get the most out of them.
According to Soltani, the company also provides consulting, designing and installation services.
“At present, domestic experts are working in the fields of cloud computing software production and development, while other technology experts are offering after-sales services,” he said.
