A domestic knowledge-based company has designed specialized software and hardware for efficiently reading water, electricity and gas meters, and reducing the time and manpower required conventionally.
By implementing the smart aggregation of readings from energy meters, the need for human and financial resources, as well as waste of time, is reduced, according to the CEO of Arayeh Chin Mehr Azar Company.
“For years, water, electricity and gas companies have been sending agents to read the meters installed in homes and offices which, at times, give rise to significant human errors. These errors invariably violate the rights of both consumers and companies,” Morteza Maqsoudi was also quoted as saying by the news portal of the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology.
He explained that the readings are summarized by energy companies, giving rise to a large volume of information with little efficiency.
The CEO said the company’s software and hardware have helped reform this time-consuming procedure in several Iranian provinces.
Maqsoudi noted that an agent can read the gas, electricity and water meters by installing software on their phones, which information is transferred online to the central server of the companies concerned by using the necessary hardware.
“In this method, a much larger volume of information is collected compared to the old method. It is also possible to analyze the data gathered through this method. For instance, the electricity company can categorize low- or high-consumption subscribers and apply incentives or penalties as per their consumption patterns,” he said.
The knowledge-based firm has also presented a plan whereby information required by gas, electricity and water companies could be read at the same time by using its hardware and software. As only one agent reads all three meters, much lower manpower and resources are required.
Maqsoudi stated that the use of technology could transform the traditional way in which Iranian service companies have been operating in the same old way for years.
Ultrasonic Water Meter Marked by High Efficacy, Low Price
A knowledge-based company has designed a smart water meter with very high accuracy and additional features to replace mechanical meters.
“The ultrasonic smart water meter has higher accuracy than traditional mechanical meters,” Abolfazl Janfada, CEO of knowledge-based Be Saaz-e-Energy Company, said.
In a housing unit under construction, a water meter is installed on the inlet pipe and another on the outlet pipe so that the difference between incoming and outgoing water is measured to calculate the amount of hot water consumed, the news portal of Vice Presidency for Science and Technology reported.
Using this product, it is possible to measure the consumption of water and thermal energy in different parts of the building to calculate the water and gas bills of each housing unit, as well as in the industrial sector.
The meter measures fluid velocity, instantaneous and volumetric flow, direction of water movement, meter operation time and water temperature.
The lifespan of this meter is 2-3 times longer than that of mechanical meters and due to its very small measurement error, it helps the customer pay the real water bill.
With this product, the water flow can be turned off for a consumer who exceeds the consumption pattern, or refuses to pay the water bill.
This meter is marketed at a lower price and can compete with similar European models.
The software and hardware of this product have been designed by the company’s workforce and direct employment has been created for 20 people.
