A domestic knowledge-based company has developed a calibrator that can compete with foreign counterparts in terms of both quality and price.
Calibration is the process of adjusting a device to meet the manufacturer’s specifications while conforming to international standards. Calibrators vary in form and function, depending on the devices and equipment they are designed to regulate.
According to a member of the Board of Directors of Behrad Sazan Parse Shiraz Company, the criteria measured by the high-quality domestic calibrator are traceable measurement standards.
“The purpose of calibration is to control the precision of the metrological parameters of testing and measuring devices and equipment,” Hossein Bostani was also quoted as saying by the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology.
The most sophisticated industrial equipment will not be useful unless it is calibrated. Through calibration, adjustments made to a piece of equipment ensure that it performs as expected and that it can be relied on to deliver predictable, accurate results that meet quality standards.
Usually, after some time, an equipment could develop an error in measurement. For its correct operation, its system must have the accuracy for conducting precise measurements.
Thermocouples, temperature and pressure indicators, flow and level transmitters and control valves are among other devices that should be calibrated.
The initial calibration of a testing and measuring device is carried out in the production process, which can include the grading of device, adjusting electrical circuits, such as setting digital indicators and ensuring the stability of the device. After some time, calibrators can be used to regulate the device periodically.
Bostani noted that the domestic calibrator helps reduce the cost of companies by half and prevents a significant foreign currency outflow by making imports unnecessary.
“If the necessary state support is extended in the field of export, this product could compete with foreign counterparts,” he said.
“About 20 jobs have been created in Parse Shiraz Behrad Sazan Company with the production of this calibrator, which can be increased when exports gain momentum.”
High Quality Domestic Sequence Meter Boosts Electrical Safety
A knowledge-based company has designed a sequence meter that uses the latest technology to increase electrical safety in houses and industries.
“A sequence meter is used to determine the direction of electric phase as well as motor rotation. Often, sequence meters announce the correct phase sequence with an alarm sound or light,” Reza Hassanlou, a member of Pars Relay Hooshmand Company’s Board of Directors, was quoted as saying by the news portal of the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology.
The high quality sequence meter can check the phase sequence in some voltage and multi-meters, has wide applications in various industries and are easy to use, he added.
Another type of domestic sequence meter allows safety testing without direct contact between a probe and wire, and indicates phase rotation with rotating LEDs and an audible buzzer.
To avoid their failure, it is necessary to connect three-phase devices such as pumps and compressors in the correct order. These devices generally draw less current when connected incorrectly and can easily be tested with a clamp on the amplifier for the amount of current drawn.
The director of the knowledge-based company noted that when the sequence meter is incorrectly connected to three-phase power to consume low electric current, it helps identify the place of each of the two wires that can be installed correctly.
Hassanlou explained that due to the competitive quality and price of the domestic sequence meter compared with foreign counterparts, the former could help prevent the outflow of foreign exchange.
“The production of sequence meters has also created dozens of jobs,” he said.
Ultrasonic Water Meter Cost-Effective
A knowledge-based company has designed a smart water meter with very high accuracy and additional features to replace mechanical meters.
“The ultrasonic smart water meter has higher accuracy than traditional mechanical meters,” Abolfazl Janfada, CEO of Be Saaz-e-Energy Company, said.
In a housing unit under construction, a water meter is installed on the inlet pipe and another on the outlet pipe so that the difference between incoming and outgoing water helps calculate the amount of hot water consumed.
The meter helps measure the consumption of water and thermal energy in different parts of the building to calculate the water and gas bills of each housing unit, as well as those of industrial units.
It measures fluid velocity, instantaneous and volumetric flow, direction of water movement, meter operation time and water temperature.
The lifespan of this meter is 2-3 times that of mechanical meters and due to its very small measurement error, it helps customers pay the real water bill.
With this product, the water flow can be turned off for a consumer who exceeds the consumption pattern, or refuses to pay the water bill. It has been marketed at a lower price, which can compete with similar European models.
The software and hardware of this product have been designed by the company’s specialized workforce.
