The National (Melli) Card is gradually replacing the insurance card at hospitals. Health Insurance Organization President Anooshiravan Mohseni said the initiative which is far more convenient and efficient, has been launched as a pilot plan in some hospitals. Nearly 8 million people have received national health coverage and the organization will make it a point to ensure mandatory coverage for all newborns, he said quoted by ISNA.
