Odd-Even Traffic Scheme in Tabriz Set for August Launch

To curb traffic congestion in Tabriz, the city’s municipality has planned to implement a traffic plan modeled after Tehran’s “Odd-Even” scheme as of Aug. 24.
“The scheme is aimed at easing traffic congestion and curbing air pollution in the central parts of Tabriz,” said Asghar Adibeyg, the managing director of Transportation and Traffic Organization of Tabriz Municipality.
It is expected to prepare the grounds for launching other traffic control plans in future, Mehr News Agency reported.
Adibeyg says imposing odd-even limits in Tabriz is necessary and can help tackle road traffic challenges.
