The first round of National Off-Road Championship was launched in Qazvin Province on Friday.
Organized by the provincial Automobile and Motorcycle Club, the races are set in four classes, namely vehicles under 2,500 cc, 2,550 to 3,500 cc, 3,500 to 4,500cc and higher than 4,500cc, IRNA reported.
Hossein Khezri, the event’s coordinator, noted that the vehicles were technically checked and approved for the competition on Friday.
The races took place on Saturday on a track stretching over 4 kilometers.
About 80 men and women with two-differential vehicles from 20 Iranian provinces, including Khorasan Razavi, Semnan, Tehran, Mazandaran, Fars, Isfahan, Alborz and Kurdestan, participated.
According to Khezri, the participants needed to follow the track and arrive at the finish line in less than 5 minutes.
Four participants from Qazvin, the host city, were announced as winners.
