The Swiss ambassador to Iran, Julio Haus who recently visited South Khorasan Province was extremely surprised to see daffodils growing in the desert region.
“I will always remember Khusf as a beautiful desert where beautiful flowers grow,” IANA quoted him as saying. The region’s potentials should be introduced locally as well as internationally, he said.
Khusf city is the headquarters of Khusf county in South Khorasan and 212 households in the province are active in the field of daffodil cultivation in 8 hectares, which will increase to 18 hectares next year (starts March 21). The crop harvesting starts from early November and completes in late March.
