Bus, metro and taxi fares will go up 15% to 20% in the coming year (starts March 21). A member of the public transport committee at Tehran City Council said city council members agreed on the price hike which “differed from what the municipality had proposed.” Eghbal Shakeri added that to encourage citizens to use electronic fare cards, “cash payments will be 20% higher than card payments,” ISNA reported.
