Cypriot Minister Discuses Academic Collaboration

Science Minister Mansour Gholami and his counterpart from Republic of Cyprus Kostas Champiaouris met in Tehran on Saturday and signed an agreement to boost scientific and academic collaboration.
As per the agreement, the two sides will work to strengthen scientific and academic ties.
Student and professor exchange programs, along with joint scientific conferences and carrying out co-organized research projects are envisaged in the agreement, IRNA reported.
With help from Cypriot academic centers, the Science Ministry will publish a list of top universities in Cyprus, highlighting higher education opportunities.
During his visit Champiaouris also met with directors of the University of Tehran and Shahid Beheshti University. He toured Pardis Technology Park west of the capital, and the National Library and Archives of Iran.
The Cypriot minister called on officials from the  Vice Presidential Office for Science and Technology and the Health Ministry.
Cyprus academic centers and universities have been successful in attracting students from many countries  including Iran. Close to 1,400 Iranians are studying in the European country.
