While 70% of available drinking water in the market is mineral water, 30% is “packaged” drinking water and this difference has been mentioned on the labels, Peiman Forouhar, secretary of mineral and drinking waters association said. Unfortunately most people have the wrong notion that all packaged water is mineral water as they don’t read the labels. Also the price of the two different types is the same, Alef News Agency reported. While mineral water should be extracted from virgin underground aquifers and the location of its plants should be in areas far from human and animal habitats, “packaged” drinking water plants are not obliged to observe such standards.
