Nearly 4600 deaths as a result of air pollution have been recorded in the current year (ends March 20) according to head of Tehran City Council commission on health and environment Rahmatollah Hafezi, who was quoting health ministry statistics. “Unfortunately the meteorological organization announces the average recorded rate of pollution by stations, while according to the defined standards, it should announce the highest recorded indices,” Alef News Agency reported.
