A monthly grant of $50 will be given to qualified parents who are not well-off financially in exchange for caring and keeping a child from dysfunctional families, said the deputy for children and teenagers at the State Welfare Organization (SWO), Hamid Reza Alvand.

At present there are 23,000 children from dysfunctional families in SWO centers, 13,000 of whom will move in with permanent families in the near future, Mehr News Agency reported.

Unfortunately 90% of the adopted children are under the age of 2, as the families are not eager to take care of older children. This problem can be solved through raising awareness among families.
