CO Poisoning Toll High

Carbon monoxide poisoning, known as the ‘silent killer,’ killed close to 8,800 people during the last decade, which is an average of two deaths per day. According to figures released by the Statistical Center of Iran, 2007 was the deadliest year in CO poisoning with 1024 deaths reported. Mahmoud Ghadiri, prevention deputy at the Tehran Fire Department urged the people to inspect all the heating devices that work with fossil fuel at least once a year for their own safety.
