Archeological studies on sewage excavations in Molavi Street (near Tehran Bazaar), in Tehran, resulted in the identification of skeletal remains belonging to the 5th millennium BC, said Mohammad Esmaeil Esmaeili Jelodar, project manager. The research revealed simple and glazed pottery, from the Safavid and Qajar eras and also brick and stone tiling and decorative materials, ISNA reported. “This unique discovery indicates that life in the city dates back to 7000 years ago,” Jelodar said.
