    Varzaneh Desert in Photos

A group photo exhibition of the lure of a desert in central Iran is underway at Theme Art Gallery in Tehran.

Titled ‘Kavir’ (desert), the exhibition is the product of a 2-day trip by students of Tehran’s News College to Varzaneh Desert, 40km southwest of Naeen in Isfahan Province, Mehr News Agency reported on its Persian website.

The group that visited the desert last winter included photography instructors Hassan Ghaffari and Pedram Mirsadeqi.

“The exhibition reflects the photographers’ first-hand experience with earth, sky and sun,” said Mohammad-Mehdi Rahimian, head of photography department of the college. This is the second exhibition by students of the college since last winter.

Kavir opened April 20 and will end on April 26. On display are photos by the two masters plus Seyyed Reza Sam’i, Fahimeh Mousavi, Mina Mohebbi, Malahat Zahiri, Zahra Montazeri, Ahmad Rekabi, Reza Pourseyf, Farhad Alidoust and Hedayat Saffari.

The gallery is located at No. 10, Zebarjad Alley, Villa Street, Karim Khan Zand Avenue.
